Hearne Scientific Software is now distributing MATFOR, a data visualisation and animation program, in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand.
MATFOR contains a set of numerical and visualization libraries developed specially for scientists and engineers, and can be applied to various fields, including wave propagation, fluid dynamics, and solid mechanics. The functions in the libraries enhance Fortran and C++ programs with dynamic visualization capabilities, shorten your numerical codes and speed up the development process.
The MATFOR toolkit can be called directly from C++ and Fortran, giving developers simplified syntax and facilitating object-oriented programming. By simply adding a few lines of MATFOR function calls to Fortran and C++ programs, developers can easily visualize computing results, perform run-time animations, or even produce a movie presentation file programs execute. MATFOR 3.2 includes the MATFOR Numerical Library, based on MKL 6.0a, the MATFOR Graphics Library, based on VTK 4.2 and the MATFOR Data Viewer.
The MATFOR 3 libraries offer developers great features such as Material and Transparency control, Axis and appearance, Color map, Object position, rotation and Euler angle manipulations, Bitmap exporting, Axis grid, wall and ticks manipulations and Texture mapping on the surface objects. Using these libraries allows developers more time to focus on specific application development and research rather than creating functions from scratch.
Debugging is facilitated with the debugging facilities provided by MATFOR Graphics Viewer. You can pause an animation, view the current data using MATFOR Data Viewer, and examine any aberrations.
MATFOR numerical procedures are designed to be intuitive and simple to use. Using the numerical procedures, you can solve many technical computing systems, especially those involving linear algebra systems, in a fraction of the time it would take to write a program traditionally in Fortran.
