Hearne agent for Whittle Software
Hearne Scientific Software will now market Whittle Programming's flagship strategic mine planning software, Four-X, on its website and in its catalogue.
"Taking on Four-X is a logical step for us," explains James Hearne, Managing Director of Hearne Scientific Software. "Most of the people who could potentially use Four-X are already using our @Risk or Mathcad software."
It is this user base, as well as the global reach of the niche web address www.hearne.com.au, that makes the marketing alliance of Hearne and Whittle so promising. It also fits well with Hearne's policy of supporting quality Australian software.
Four-X, the premier software tool in its field, is used by the mining industry to analyse and forecast optimal pit design for a variety of economic circumstances. Recent incorporation of a customised Windows-based front end, known as Proteus Environment, has made Four-X even easier to use.
Whittle Programming (www.whittle.com.au) is a Melbourne-based company with a global outlook. Its software is used in over fifty countries, and is the subject of international "Optimizing with Whittle" conferences. The company continues to develop new and improved software packages that enable strategists and engineers to add value and confidence to mining projects.
Hearne Scientific Software is a leading distributor of scientific software in Australia. Today more than 250 products comprise the Hearne Scientific Software product range, including a number used in the mining industry. Marketing via the World Wide Web is a core component of the business.
Hearne Web Publishing was launched in 1998 and in 1999 Hearne was awarded a Federal government research and development grant to investigate delivery of educational courses over the internet.
