MatBase
Introduction
MatBase is the knowledge base for getting comprehensive transcription factor information. It contains information on transcription factors and the corresponding weight matrices used by MatInspector to locate potential binding sites of these transcription factors in DNA sequences. In addition MatBase contains information on regulatory interactions between transcription factors and other genes, regulatory modules (i.e. pairs or groups of transcription factor binding sites with a proven regulatory function).
Use an intuitive, easy to use interface to search for specific information by keyword, or browse the database by category.

- Transcription factor genes (GeneIDs, synonyms, organisms, etc.)
- Weight matrices and matrix families as used by MatInspector
- Binding site sequences
- Binding domains
- Literature references
